Meet Breannah

Breannah R. Alexander Oppenhuizen is a Racial Justice and Racial Equity content designer and facilitator. Her work over the last decade has entered the spaces of local community organizers, businesses exploring how they think of their commitment to racial equity, foundations seeking to better understand their role in empowering communities and young people figuring out how to be responsible global citizens. When she is not educating on systemic inequity and racial justice, she is a passionate voice for the empowerment of women and girls.

Breannah is the Founder and Managing Director of women reVamped. In March 2013, she established the organization in response to a growing need for female centered initiatives and a personal passion for ensuring the empowerment of young girls. Breannah’s previous experience includes serving as the Director of Strategic Programs at Partners for a Racism-Free Community, Program Manager of Michigan’s Habitat for Humanity AmeriCorps Program, an AmeriCorps State member at Grand Rapids Community Foundation, and Program Associate for Youth Philanthropy at the Council of Michigan Foundations working with youth grant makers in Michigan and across the nation.

Breannah currently lives in Michigan where she is the Disability and Racial Justice Organizer at Michigan Disability Rights Coalition. Breannah was previously a Commissioner on the Michigan Community Service Commission, board member of the Grand Rapids based Partners for a Racism Free Community and the Michigan LEAGUE board, Co-Chair of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network Grand Rapids board and a Leader with Opportunity Nation, a national campaign to increase economic mobility for young people in the United States. Breannah studied Criminal Justice and Public Administration at Grand Valley State University.
